Abstract

Pharmacologic inhibition of the mutant BRAF^V600E protein in advanced BRAF^V600E melanoma results in a high proportion of patients that respond, but few with durable responses. We have recently revealed that Natural Killer (NK) cells play an essential role in the BRAF^V600E inhibitor control of melanoma metastases in mice that may be therapeutically exploited to help overcome drug resistance.
